Indirect Speech - Interrogative Sentences
Verbal Type or Yes No Type Questions
WH Type Questions
अवतरण चिन्हातील वाक्य Interrogative Sentence प्रश्नार्थक Verbal Type Question किंवा WH Type Question असेल तर त्या वाक्याचे Indirect Speech पुढील प्रमाणे करावे.
1. Reporting Verb बदलणे.
2. If किंवा Whether आणि WH word चा वापर करुन वाक्य जोडणे.
3. वाक्य रचनेतील बदल करणे.
4. अवतरण चिन्हातील वाक्य Interrogative Sentence असेल तरी खालील गोष्टींचे बदल सामाईक नियमांप्रमाणे करावेत-
A. काळ Tenses,
B. सहाय्यकारी क्रियापदे Auxillary Verbs
C. पुरुषवाचक सर्वनामांत Personal Pronouns,
D. Time and nearness
1. Reporting Verb बदलणे.
अवतरण चिन्हातील वाक्य Interrogative Sentence प्रश्नार्थक Verbal Type Question किंवा WH Type Question असेल तर त्या वाक्यातील Reporting verb said किंवा इतर असेल तर Indirect करताना त्याऐवजी asked लिहावे.
Rahul said, "Does Sahil sing song?"
Rahul asked if Sahil sang song.
अवतरण चिन्हातील वाक्य कोणाला उद्देशून असेल तर Reporting verb 'said to' किंवा इतर असेल तर asked to लिहून नये तर फक्त 'asked' लिहावे.
Rahul said to Shankar, "How does Sahil sing song?"
Rahul asked Shankar how Sahil sang song.
2. If किंवा Whether आणि WH word चा वापर करुन वाक्य जोडणे.
अवतरण चिन्हातील वाक्य Verbal type question असेल तर Reporting verb चे वाक्य व अवतरण चिन्हांतील direct speech चे वाक्य जोडण्यासाठी if किंवा whether यांचा conjunction म्हणून करावा.
Rahul said, "Does Sahil sing song?"
Rahul asked if Sahil sang song.
अवतरण चिन्हातील वाक्य WH Type Question असेल तर Reporting verb चे वाक्य व अवतरण चिन्हांतील direct speech चे वाक्य जोडण्यासाठी ज्या WH word ने प्रश्नाची सुरूवात झाली असेल तर त्याच WH word चा conjunction म्हणून करावा.
Rahul said to Shankar, "How does Sahil sing song?"
Rahul asked Shankar how Sahil sang song.
3. वाक्य रचनेतील बदल करणे.
अवतरण चिन्हांतील Direct Speech चे वाक्य Verbal Type Question किंवा WH Type Question असले तरी indirect करताना त्या वाक्याचे रुपांतर Statement विधानार्थी वाक्यात 'Subject + Verb + Object.' अशी रचना करावी.
Rahul said, "Does Sahil sing song?"
Rahul asked if Sahil sang song.
Rahul said to Shankar, "How does Sahil sing song?"
Rahul asked Shankar how Sahil sang song.
4. अवतरण चिन्हातील वाक्य Intrrogative Sentence असले तरी खालील गोष्टींचे बदल सामाईक नियमांप्रमाणे करावेत
A. काळ Tense
1. Sahil said, " Does Rahul bind roap?"
Sahil asked if Rahul bound roap.
2.Shankara said to Raj, "Did Sanjay bring milk?"
Shankara asked Raj if Sanjay had brought milk.
3. Sanjay said, "Is Shankar building house?"
Sanjay asked if Shankar was building house.
4. Teacher said, "Why have people bought vegetables?"
Teacher asked why People had bought vegetables.
5. People said, "When were Children catching balls?"
People asked when Children had been catching balls.
6. He said, "Where have been Boys choosing fruits?"
He asked where Boys had been choosing fruits.
B. सहाय्यकारी क्रियापदे Auxillary Verbs
1. Sahil said, "Does Rahul not bind roap?"
Sahil asked if Rahul did not bind roap.
2. Shankara said to Raj, "Did Sanjay not bring milk?"
Shankara asked Raj if Sanjay had not brought milk.
3. Sanjay said, "Can Shankar build house?"
Sanjay asked if Shankar could build house.
4. Teacher said, "Will People bring vegetables?"
Teacher asked if People would bring vegetables.
5. People said, "May Children catch balls?"
People asked if Children might catch balls.
6. He said, "Must Boys choose fruits?"
He asked if Boys must choose fruits.
C. पुरुषवाचक सर्वनामांत Personal Pronouns
1. Sahil said, "Do we bind roap?"
Sahil asked if they bound roap.
2. Shankara said to Raj, "why is He bringing milk?"
Shankara asked Raj why He was bringing milk.
3. Sanjay said, "Have I built house?"
Sanjay asked if he had built house.
4. Teacher said to them, "When did You bring vegetables?"
Teacher asked them when they had bought vegetables.
5. People said, "How do you catch balls?"
People asked how they caught balls.
D. Time and nearness
1. Sahil said, "Do I sing song, today?"
Sahil asked if he sang song, that day.
2. Disha said, "Why did we go to school, tomorrow?"
Disha asked why they had gone to school, next day.
3. He said, "Will he read story, yesterday?"
He asked if he would read story, the previous day.
5. You said, "How will She give pen, tonight?"
You asked how she would give pen, that night.
6. People said, "Do they play cricket, Next week?"
People asked if they played cricket the following week.
